Pleasant change

I feel like I have not posted forever.

One of the thoughts that lightened up my mind lately is that despite all the difficulty I’ve been having with my two children saying prayers and reading Gospel, they ASK for it themselves. And I have to confess that some days I feel so busy and/or tired that I skip the reading of Gospel, thinking it’s either too late or there’s not enough time. And those little reminders are like condemnation for me being so sucked into this worldliness.

We started reading the Big Book, the real Bible just recently. And I am glad we did.  Before we used to read some Bible story books I brought from Russia because I assumed it was too “early” to read the Bible. Then I talked to our priest, o.Mark, and he said that There is grace in just hearing the Word – even if not “grown up” enough to understand.  So reading the appointed selection form the wall calendar will be the most relevant selection to read – as determined by the fathers of the Church.   It can noetically affect them even if they don’t understand (an expression of this is the requirement for even infants to be present in or near Church – not at home or on the road – when the Gospel is read in Church in order to be allowed Communion.) “

Sometime I think there’s not enough attention when I read and the kids are either playing with a book mark or simply not sitting still… But they ARE listening! God is merciful...
