Lord, Save Me

Of  a truth thou art the Son of God

(Matthew 14, 33)

Having stretched forth His hand to Peter, the Savior caught him, ordered the winds to quiet down, and the disciples found themselves by the shore they were trying to find in the storm. The same way Christ appears unto them in the morning of His resurrection, when his disciples, having lost all the hope, were in a great sorrow. Then he comes amongst them and their hearts get filled with the greatest joy, which no one will even be able to take away from them. The same way He comes to every Christian in tribulation, replacing sorrow with peace. And we can say together with David: “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psalms 29, 6)

We will see Him too, when after worldly storms we reach a “quiet harbor”. Then, having received warmth from the Sun, that will never go down, we will become like Him, because we will see Him the way He is, i.e. our Friend, Savior and Lord. His disciples experienced that when they worshiped Him: “Of  a truth thou art the Son of God“.

From generation to generation these words get repeated by those, whom He pulled out of the waters of sorrows and whom He brought from the darkness of desperation to His Light. “Of  a truth thou art the Son of God”. You are the only One who holds the words of eternal life. You bloods cleans from every sin. You are the only  One who can pull me away from my own self  and take my whole heart so that Your mercy get glorified in me. You are my only hope, my greatest bliss. You are everything for me! You are my God! We shall repeat these words every day, and let all of our sorrows and tribulations makes us closer to You. So those, who get torn up with doubts and leak of faith, should cry out: “Lord! Save me!”

And those, whom He has saved, should praise the Lord for His mercy, for His miracles for the sons of men. Shall everyone glorify the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Amen.
