Clear Waters of Life
Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee
from the womb…fear not… for I will pour water upon him
that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground (Is.44, 2-3)
He understands all of our needs because He created us with his own hand, formed us like a potter forms everything that he needs out of clay. Creator will, no doubt, support the creation. “Fear not for I will pour waters and floods”, - this is what He tells us; where there is thirst, there will be rivers of water of life. We thirst His presence, His peace, His salvation, and He promises floods!
“He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river” (Ps.104, 41) Only Lord can do this. Hard path of life is often dry, fruitless desert, where our strength is wasted. Sorrow is often hardens our soul instead of softening it; but when Lord spreads His arm over our sorrow, when He reaches our cruel hearts, then, and only then, the streams of healing waters of live will pour unto dry and fruitless places.
And even if our moral power is so exhausted that we do not realize our thirst, let us trust Him, that we are a dry land, which needs water, and ask Him to send floods to water the desert and bring back life to it. He will ease and fill our need more abundantly than we can ever imagine and will stop any spiritual thirst.
The Holy Scripture says: “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb” (Rev.22, 1) While this river floats, everyone thirsty can come and drink as much as they want, because “thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures” (Ps.35, 9). The fullness of endless pleasures is expecting us, when all earthly sorrows pass and when Lord finds us ready to taste the heavenly bliss that He prepared for us.
