Weep Not

Weep not (Lk.7, 13)

Don’t weep, poor mother! You are burying your only son, your last hope of your lonely life! Who can say, looking at your endless sorrow, say “weep not”? He, Who can wipe your tears away and turn them into joy. Look, He comes to the bed of death, which your precious one is laying on, touches it, sais a word, and your son is getting up – alive. What a comfort Christ brought unto you!

Yes, only the One could say “weep not”, Who can stop your weeping forever.

People say “weep not” too, often without getting into details of the sorrow of their neighbor and by that just hurting them more. This weak and surface consolation often just adds pain of a mourning soul. Don’t judge people for this but try to bypass them strait to God and listen if He is telling you “Weep not”.  Not a man or even an Angel will bring comfort to you, but Lord God Himself. From the depth of His love He is saying to the depth of your sorrow: “Weep not”. Do not weep, because  He is your Comforter, because He knows and loves you,  because He will give you back what you are mourning about and will teach you to wait for it in patience. Trust Him, trust the testimony of Apostle Paul: “For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.” (2 Cor.1, 5); you will trust and you will raise your head up. You will stop your mourning and remember your sorrow in order “to comfort them which are in any trouble” (2 Cor.1, 4) with the comfort that God comforted you with.
