Closeness to God

Then went king David in, and set before the Lord (2 Sam.7, 18)

Wherever we are we can always stand before the Lord, if we only take our eyes off everything earthly and look at the face of the Savior. Even in the midst of a crowd we can be alone with the Lord and in communication with Him. Everything in nature talks about Him. Endless sea speaks about endless mightiness of God; cloudless blue of the sky breaths peace; ancient mountains express  His invincibility.

But we also can stand before God when we seclude ourselves in a cell; when we reverently read the Word of God, then Lord Himself is talking to us; when we kneel ourselves for a prayer and pour our soul before Him – as if lying by His feet, touch the edge of his garment and feeling His peaceful touch in our troubled heart. We come so close to our Savior in those minutes and it gives us such a great strength to our spirit!
