“When Messiah Comes”
I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ;
when He is come, He will tell us all things (Jn.4, 25)
We would like to know so much, but we know so little! So many questions remain unanswered, so much unclear in our life, and we too are ready to join the Samaritan woman in her words: “I know that Messiah cometh… He will tell us all things”.
We are trying to find even a hint about the mysterious events that happen plentifully in our life; but no, the mystery of our life and its meaning remains unrevealed for us. But everything will change when Christ comes! When He comes, the silence that burdens us, will be broken, the explanation will be found – “He will tell us all things”. He will reveal all the mysterious features of a human nature; we will learn the meaning of our sorrow, which darkened our life; the reason of unfairness and unevenness in a human destiny; then we will understand a lot of what seemed so unclear and unnecessary at the time, which we complained a lot about and could not accept. “When Messiah comes”, our eyes will be open.
So many unresolved mysteries go into grave; so much mystery there is in everyone’s life; so many misfortunes, which used to affect the best relationships, - all these will become clear, “when Messiah comes”. And we will know that all things work together for good. (Rom.8, 28), and while we are still waiting, let us not waste this time for fruitless questions. Let us learn what is revealed to us already, what will not perish for the rest of our lives and what can give us strength to live for Christ and die with Him. Let us remember these words, said to each and every one of us: “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever” (Deut.29, 29).
